MP: large flights from Karipur by month end

Malappuram: The Calicut International Airport (Karipur) is likely to resume operations of large flights by the end of this month.

P.K. Kunhalikutty, MP, said here on Friday that he was given an assurance by Union Minister for Civil Aviation Suresh P. Prabhu about the resumption of operations with larger aircraft from Karipur by this month-end.

Mr. Kunhalikutty said the work was in the final stage for giving permission for wide-body aircraft to operate from Karipur.

He said the office of the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) too had indicated that large flights could be operated from Karipur by the end of this month.
