Hailakandi: Silchar MP Sushmita Dev has expressed concern over non-availability of doctors at Kumbhirgram airport to deal with emergencies, especially in view of increase in passengers.
Sushmita, who is also the chairperson of the airport's advisory committee, said the matter was raised in a meeting of the committee on Monday.
The meeting also raised issues such as cancellation of Silchar-Calcutta-Bangalore flight, which has affected patients flying out of the state for medical care, the need to introduce Silchar-Imphal flight, acquisition of land for expansion of airport, night-landing facilities, a matter Sushmita has been stressing on for quite some time, and raised concern over increase in prices of tickets in various sectors.
