TruJet to induct up to 7 ATRs; to expand 20 more routes

Hyderabad: Trujet will launch flights in 20 new routes connecting Tier-2 and Tier-3 destinations like Kandla, Jaisalmer, Cooch Behar and others by the end of this financial year.

The three-year-old scheduled air carrier, which has just entered into the fourth year of operations, has been already flying to 14 destinations under the Union government’s UDAN scheme and has been further awarded these new routes under the second phase of the scheme.

“TruJet is now flying to 14 major destinations like Mysuru, Salem, Cuddapah, Bellary and others. We will now be adding flights in 20 new routes, especially focusing on Western and Eastern regions of India. We will connect Kandla, Porbandar, Keshod, Jaisalmer, Jalgaon and Nasik from Ahmedabad in western region and Burnpur, Cooch Behar, Tezu and Rupasi from Guwahati in Eastern India. All these routes have good potential. There has been close to 85 per cent occupancy rate among all the flights we are operating till now and we are confident of doing good business even in the new routes to be launched by the end of this FY,” said Vishok Mansingh, CEO, TruJet Airlines.
