Mangaluru: Kalyanmayee unit of Airport Authority of India (AAI), Mangaluru International Airport (MIA), conducted awareness campaign on menstrual hygiene here at Sri Narayana Guru Sabhagraha Permude on Monday, August 6, under the CSR initiative of AAI.
Social Worker from Prajna Counselling centre Reshma who was the key speaker said, “Menstruation starts at the age of 12 to 14 or after 14 years. In some places, women are not supposed to go out and they are not supposed to touch anyone during menstruation. There will be lot of restrictions for the children during the menstruation period, which is not right. We should not make them feel stressed. They should feel free and comfortable during that period.”
This is the third awareness camp organised by Kalyanmayee. Earlier they had organised camps at government women’s polytechnic college, Bondel and Government women's college at Jyothi on July 19 and 20 respectively.
