Mumbai airport officials seize drugs, cash

Mumbai: Customs authorities at Mumbai international airport during May 7 and May 8 registered three cases involving the seizure of US dollars and banned drugs.

Officials stated that in one case they booked a passenger from whom they recovered a total of one lakih USD, equivalent to Rs 93.45 lakh. The passenger arrived in Mumbai from Jamnagar and was scheduled to depart from Mumbai to Dubai.

In another case, officials seized 17.9 kgs of suspected NDPS (Hydroponic Weed), valued at around Rs 17.9 crores, from a passenger who arrived from Bangkok via Thai Airways.

In the third case, officials booked two passengers for carrying 1.9 kgs of suspected NDPS (Hydroponic Weed), valued at around Rs 1.9 crores. The accused passengers arrived from Bangkok.
