Gold worth Rs 1.8 crore seized at Mangalore Airport


Mangalore: Sleuths of the directorate of revenue intelligence detected a case of illegal transshipment of six kgs of gold worth Rs 1.80 crore from a passenger on board Dubai -Mangalore Air India IX 384 flight on Saturday.
 The flight landed at Mangalore International Airport at 5.30pm. Based on a tip off DRI officials detained and questioned AbrarHaqBhatkal (38). Official sources said that the accused was carrying gold ornaments concealed in chocolate wrappers.
