Airport Authority of India hosts western region CSR meeting in Surat

Surat: The Airport Authority of India (AAI) selected the Diamond City to host its annual western region workshop on the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on Friday.
Senior AAI officials from all the airports falling under the western region including Goa, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat had participated in the workshop to discuss the CSR activities and way forward. The workshop has come at the time when the Surat airport is struggling to find increased air connectivity. At present, the airport caters to only three scheduled operation between Delhi-Surat and Surat-Mumbai with a total of five landing and five take-offs per day.
Sources said that most of the AAI officials had to come either via train or by road to reach Surat and attend the workshop. The officials from Mumbai were lucky enough to arrive at Surat through the Air India (AI) flight in the morning from Mumbai to Surat.
