All set for daily air service on Gaya-Delhi route from April 1

Gaya: The long pending demand of Gaya flyers for all-season service on Gaya-Delhi route is set to be realised with the aviation ministry deciding to operate daily Air India flight on the route from April 1 onwards.
For the last one decade, the airlines has been operating only seasonal flights (October-April) on the route. Foreigners visit Bodh Gaya in large numbers during tourist season. In the off season too, a sizeable number of foreigners, including pilgrims from Sri Lanka, visit the land of Buddha's enlightenment.
Gaya airport director Dilip Kumar said he had recently received a communication regarding the off season continuance of the air service on Gaya-Delhi route. "The new arrangement will enhance capacity utilisation of the airport, as the discontinuation of the flight between April and September each year resulted in non-utilisation of the facilities and made the local work force virtually redundant," Kumar said.
