Bhubaneswar: To prevent the Zika virus from spreading in the state, the authorities of Biju Patnaik International Airport have sounded an alert at the airport. The ministry of health and family welfare has given precautionary advisory to the airport as international feeder flights operate from here.
According to official sources, signs have been put up in the arrival lounge of the international terminal asking passengers with symptoms of fever to report at the immigration cell. "We have activated the immigration cell and people coming from Africa and America will have to be monitored by the immigration cell. A list of dos and don'ts have been mentioned on a template near the immigration cell," said airport director Sharad Kumar. "The name of affected countries has also been written on the template," he added.
