Trujet to operate flights from Kadapa from today

Kurnool: After a gap of nearly 25 years, flights will be operated from Kadapa to Hyderabad from Ugadi on April 8.

Vayudoot had operated flights from Kadapa to Hyderabad in the 1980s, but Kadapa aerodrome was neglected in due course and subsequently merely became a refuelling point for helicopters of Chief Ministers and other VIPs.

Trujet, a regional air carrier promoted by Turbo Megha Airways Pvt. Ltd., with headquarters in Hyderabad, on Thursday announced it will operate flights from Kadapa airport to Hyderabad from April 8.

Kadapa will be connected by air to Hyderabad and flights will be operated for four days a week from Friday to Monday, Venkayalapati Umesh, Managing Director of Turbo Megha Airways Pvt. Ltd., said here on Thursday. “We are happy to operate to connect the city of Kadapa to Hyderabad after a gap of more than 25 years”, Mr. Umesh said and added Kadapa would be put back on the air map.
