GAA SpeedJet Aviation, Jet Airways tie-up to train students at Mumbai Airport

GAA SpeedJet Aviation, a partnership between Gulf Aviation Academy and domestic aviation training institute SpeedJet Aviation has announced its tie-up with Private carrier Jet Airways to provide on-ground training to its students from the current batch of cabin crew and ground staff.

Jet Airways offered students lessons in ground duties - including airport check-in, passenger and cargo handling at T2 terminal of the Mumbai international airport.

Gulf Aviation Academy is part of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, the investment arm for the Kingdom of Bahrain. Jet Airways is India's premier international airline which operates flights to 67 destinations, including India and overseas.

"The Aviation sector is on a high-growth trajectory with India set to be world's third largest aviation market by 2020. Needless to say, demand for pilots, cabin crew and ground staff is set to soar. The association with Jet Airways is part of our effort to provide students with a diverse range of training programmes, giving them a competitive advantage that is at par with international standards," said Director SpeedJet Aviation, Capt. Dharamraj Shukla.

Apart from the full airport visit, the students were briefed about standard Operating procedures along with services across different airline categories. There were lessons on all ground handling duties including different types of cargo, bag and baggage tags, coding of passengers, multiple cargo operations along with equipment used for ground handling.
