First flight lands at Vadodara’s new airport

The first flight carrying passengers from New Delhi landed at Vadodara's newly inaugurated international airport on Wednesday, making the operational commencement of the facility. "The evening flight of Air India landed from Delhi. From Thursday, the new terminal will become operational as all the 10 scheduled flights will land at the new airport on regular basis," said Sonu Marande, director of Airports Authority of India (AAI), Vadodara.
The new integrated terminal building Vadodara airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 22. The new building was not operational so far as airline operators were busy shifting and preparing new counters.
The terminal building is Gujarat's first and country's second GRIHA-rated green international airport and four times bigger than the old airport building at Harni.
