AAI pays Rs 560 cr to govt as interim dividend

New Delhi: Airports Authority of India (AAI) today declared an interim dividend of Rs 560 crore for the fiscal year 2016-17.

The public sector undertaking had paid a dividend of Rs 482.21 crore to the government for the previous financial year and posted a net profit of Rs 2,537 crore.

An interim dividend amounting Rs 560 crore was presented to Civil Aviation Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju by AAI Chairman Guruprasad Mohapatra today, an official release said.

The state-owned airport operator's topline had surged eight per cent to Rs 10,824 crore in FY16 on account of higher passenger traffic and aircraft movement.

AAI manages 125 airports in the country, including 11 international aerodromes, besides providing air navigation services.
