Airfare for Delhi-Chandigarh Flights Rises Due to Jat Agitation

Remember the epic Jat quota stir that had made the entire north India go for a toss last year? Where Haryana along with its adjoining Chandigarh, Punjab, Delhi, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh had gone haywire with vandalism, total shutdown of transportation and riots.
Thinking of similar situation could arise in the proposed Jat agitation today in Delhi– NCR, airlines including Air India, SpiceJet, Indigo and Jet airways have increased their airfare for Delhi- Chandigarh flights. Fortunately, the agitation has been called off for today but the air tickets bought for today have burnt holes into the pockets of the passengers. The air tickets between Delhi to Chandigarh that normally starts from Rs 3000 or Rs 4000 are now double the price, highest being Rs 14,741.
The rise in the airfare is due to the sudden influx of the flight bookings by the passengers as well as the agents. People in panic due to the Jat protest thronged to get the last minute booking and the ticket prices soared high.
