Airport drug haul case : All accused fail to appear again

Imphal: All the five accused in the Imphal Airport drug haul case failed to appear before the Special Court Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance, Lamphelpat today.

This is the second time that the five accused have failed to appear before the Court.

The five accused are Okram Henry, Sapam Angus @ Naoba, Md Rajauddin and two non-locals namely Ramveer Tyagi and Rajneesh Kumar from Ghaziabad.

They were represented by their counsels in today's hearing of the case.

The Court filed a dispenser and perused the case diary.

One of the counsels of the accused submitted before the Court that as per the charge sheet submitted by CBI (ACB) Kolkata, one Luwangthem Tarpon of Keishampat Thokchom Leikai who allegedly made a call to the police in connection with the seizure of the huge consignment of drugs was not included as an accused but O Henry was indicted as an accused on the charges that he made a call to the police with regard to the seizure of the drugs.

After hearing the submission of the counsel, the Court summoned Tarpon to appear before the Court on April 11 in connection with the ongoing trial of the case.
