Delhi-Ludhiana flight from July

Ludhiana:  The city will be air linked to the capital from next month.
Delhi-Ludhiana flight will be launched by Alliance Air in July and in September, a private company will start another flight.
Punjab on Thursday signed an MoU with the government of India and the Airport Authority of India (AAI) under the country's flagship programme UDAN in the presence of CM Captain Amarinder Singh.
The state spokesperson said a tripartite agreement was signed by Usha Padhee, joint secretary, ministry of civil aviation, Tejveer Singh, secretary, civil aviation, Punjab, and GK Chaukiyal, executive director for AAI, in Chandigarh.
The spokesperson said four airports of Bathinda, Ludhiana, Pathankot and Adampur have been connected under the scheme through five proposals. While Delhi-Bathinda by Alliance Air is already operational, Delhi-Pathankot and Delhi-Ludhiana, also by the same carrier, would start by July. In addition, Delhi-Adampur by Spicejet will start in August and Delhi-Ludhiana by Deccan in September 2017.
