Passengers injured at IGI airport after a window of an airline coach shattered

New Delhi: Five IndiGo passengers traveling from Delhi airport on Friday evening suffered minor injuries after a window of coach shattered. According to the airline incident happened due to a jet blast from a SpiceJet plane approaching a parking bay. Five passengers who have suffered injuries were in a coach of IndiGo airline and were about to board the flight. Delhi Police has filed a case under IPC section 337 and asked both the airlines to submit their versions. According to the sources, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is also inquiring about the incident as five people have suffered injuries

IndiGo airlines is blaming SpiceJet and claimed that incident happened after a jet blast from a plane. On the other side, SpiceJet has said that it is premature to conclude that incident happened due a jet blast from a SpiceJet plane.

“IndiGo Coach number 34 was parked at Bay 17 at 16:50 hours for boarding of passengers on flight 6E-191 enroute Delhi-Mumbai. At the same time, an arriving aircraft of SpiceJet SG-253 took a turn to park at the allocated bay. The jet blast from the aircraft broke the right front window glass of the coach,” IndiGo said in a statement.
