DRI seizes 2 kg gold from passenger at airport

Jaipur: The sleuths of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized 2.11 kg of gold estimated to be worth over Rs 62 lakhs from a passenger at Jaipur airport on Wednesday night.
The passenger was identified as Danish, who sleuths of DRI found was travelling under false identity of one Rajiv Yadav. "We had specific information that a domestic flight passenger may be attempting to smuggle gold. On this input, Danish was detained and searched," a senior official of DRI told TOI.
The sleuths of DRI recovered two gold bar, and a gold biscuit from the suspect. The total seized gold weighed about 2.11 kg, "The present market value of the gold is approximately 62.4 lakh. He was travelling on false documents that too have been recovered by us," a DRI official told TOI.
