Jazeera to start flight operations from Ahmedabad

With winter season setting in, airlines have started filling slots for additional routes to catch up on the passenger demands. Interestingly, this winter, a new international airline is all set to commence its operations from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPI). Jazeera airways will its operations from Ahmedabad to Kuwait thrice a week.

According to sources, initial discussion on slots also had Spice Jet commencing its flight to Bangkok. Whereas Ethiopian airlines that used to operate freight flights from city intends to add three passenger flights. However, the slots of Ethiopian Airlines and Air Asia will be confirmed by next week.

Speaking of the winter schedule, Manoj Gangal, Airport Director, SVPI said, “I had a meeting with station managers and airlines and clarified that in any case, there should be no rush, which is more than the capacity. I understand the urge of airlines to offer more flights and routes. However, I need to see passengers comfort as well. During winters, we need to also keep the fog and other conditions in mind and hence we have made the schedule as per terminals capacity.”
