Training for better airport service


Shamshabad: A valedictory event was organised by GMR Varalakshmi Foundation (Hyderabad Center) here recently, to recognise the trainees of the first two batches of ‘Recognition of Prior Learning’ (RPL) programme conducted for the housekeeping staff at Hyderabad International Airport.

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) along with GMRVF conducted this programme for the housekeeping staff and gardeners working at the airport. M Subhash deputy chief operating officer, GHIAL handed over the certificates to the candidates.

This training and certification will help in boosting the morale of the staff which can help achieve better service standards at the airport. Apart from receiving a certificate issued each trainee will also receive five hundred rupees in their bank accounts from the government. 

The RPL Programme at the airports has been sanctioned by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) this includes minimum 12 hours of training and orientation followed by an assessment by a third party. Two batches of housekeeping staff were trained in the last couple of months with 100 per cent pass out rate.
