‘Aviation market flying high’

India’s success march in developing airports had made the country the third largest aviation market, Union Civil Aviation Minister P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju said on Monday.

Speaking at the plenary on ‘Connectivity and Communication: Fast-tracking infrastructure development and financing,’e said the Indian aviation market was growing at a fast pace.

Singapore Minister for Trade and Industry S. Iswaran, Telecom Special Secretary N. Sivasailam, South Asia Gateways Terminals CEO Romesh David, Member, House of Lords, UK Baroness Sandip Verma, A.P. Principal Secretary, Energy, Infrastructure and Investment Ajay Jain and ADB Deputy Country Director Sabyasachi Mitra took part in the discussion.

Mr. Raju said the country had over 70 commercial airports and 80 more were being added. Thrust was also being laid on regional connectivity. “Connectivity will have a multiplier effect,” he remarked.

Business Ambassador of Business Russia to India Olga Kulikova said they making efforts for exchange of teams between the two countries to facilitate partnership in various business ventures.
