Emirates Chairman meets Indian PM

Dubai: Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Emirates Group and President of Dubai Department of Civil Aviation, accompanied by a senior delegation from the Emirates airline, called upon Indian Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh in Delhi yesterday afternoon.
The Indian Prime Minister and Shaikh Ahmed discussed key issues relating to the aviation industry. Emirates Chairman also thanked the Indian government for granting the airline additional traffic rights to operate to India.The airline's senior executives were in India to celebrate the launch of Emirates’ new non-stop service between Dubai and Thiruvananthapuram.
On February 1, the Dubai-based airline launched eight-a-week flights to Thiruvananthapuram; enhanced its services to Cochin from five to seven flights a week; and added four more flights to Chennai to serve the city eight times a
