AAI staff peeved by ministry stand on airport project

New Delhi: Airports Authority of India employees' representatives today protested an official statement that privatisation of Delhi and Mumbai airports were beyond the jurisdiction of the tripartite committee set up on the modernisation of airports in the country.
The employees representatives in the committee protested when Civil Aviation Ministry officials pointed out at a meeting here that the two airports, for which the process of restructuring has begun with the selection of two private consortia led by GMR and GVK groups, were not included in the terms of the tripartite panel.
The committee was set up in the wake of the four-day strike by airport employees in February.
