Mumbai: Air India’s AI-137, which had left the Mumbai airport early Monday morning for Los Angeles via Delhi and Frankfurt, was recalled to make an emergency landing on suspicion of a burst tyre.
The aircraft, carrying 250 passengers, turned back after it was alerted by Delhi airport of ‘tyre remnants’ while it was over Karachi. “We made the emergency landing at the Mumbai airport because it has the necessary infrastructure.
It has landed safely,” said Air India company secretary and spokesperson S Venkat.
