India-Kuwait air fares set to go down by 20-30%

New Delhi: International air fares on the India-Gulf route are set to cruise to a lower altitude. With India and Kuwait agreeing to allow two low-cost airlines - Air India Express and Jazeera Airways - to start international flights between the two nations, airline industry insiders said the increased competition is expected to result in a 20-30% drop in air fares on this route.
In addition, the designated airlines of both the countries have also been permitted to operate all-cargo flights between India and Kuwait and also to onward destinations. These are part of a liberalised bilateral air services agreement finalised between India and Kuwait.
