Introducing air service to Kargil being explored

Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir government would explore the possibility of introducing the service of Air Deccan in Kargil, Minister for Haj and Auqaf Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed said today.
At present airlines operating in rest of the country do not have aircraft which can operate in Kargil due to high altitude and comparatively short run-way length, the minister said in reply to a question and supplimentaries by Nasir Ullah (NC) in Legislative Council.
However, the government is looking into the feasibility of starting air operations in Kargil, he said.
