Kingfisher Airlines takes delivery of its first ATR 72-500 aircraft

Toulouse: Kingfisher Airlines today took delivery of its first ATR 72-500 aircraft. The delivery ceremony took place in Toulouse with Dr. Vijay Mallya, Chairman and Managing Director of Kingfisher Airlines and Filippo Bagnato, Chief Executive Officer of ATR.
This aircraft is the first to be delivered following the signature of a contract for twenty new ATR 72-500s unveiled in November 2005. The initial order was subsequently increased in February 2006 when Kingfisher Airlines exercised options for 15 additional ATR 72-500.
To date, Kingfisher Airlines has ordered 35 new ATR 72-500 and has 20 more options.The ATR 72-500 represents the new generation of turboprop aircraft and offers the highest standards of passenger comfort with the widest cabin in their class.
Equipped with the new “Elegance” cabin, the aircraft is delivered with the newest technological innovations in the field of communications and navigation aid tools and IFE (in-flight entertainment).
