AAI high-level team inspects sites for Shimoga airport

Shimoga: A high-level expert committee from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) visited Shimoga on Tuesday to conduct a spot inspection of the sites identified by the district administration for the establishment of an airport in Shimoga city.
The team visited Sogane village, 10 kilometres away from Shimoga city, and Nagarabavi village near Ayanur in Shimoga taluk, and studied the pros and cons of both places. The AAI team, comprising AAI planning division deputy general manager I N Murthy, civil department deputy general manager G D Gupta, engineer division deputy general manager S N Rathori, AGM Subash Chougule and senior manager D Maithra, first visited Sogane village.
After spending more than 3 hours at the spot, the team visited Nagarabavi village near Ayanur. 05/04/06 Deccan Herald
