Mumbai:Tenders have been invited by Air India to implement a computerised Face Biometric Passenger Identification System (FBPIS).
The system, which uses a specialised camera, captures ‘intelligent’ biometric characteristics (features specific to a person just like a fingerprint) of passengers.
The cameras will be installed at all AI counters in airports across India, and in countries the airline flies to, like France, UK, Germany, Canada and Bangladesh.
