Bangalore airport project cost revised; to cost Rs 1,867 crore

Bangalore: The project cost of the redesigned Bangalore International Airport at Devanahalli on the city outskirts has been revised upwards by Rs 450 crore to Rs 1,867.80 crore, Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said today.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting with Bangalore International Airport Limited (Bial) officials here, Yediyurappa, who holds the finance portfolio, said the airport's capacity for passenger traffic flow would be increased to 11 million.
He said one airport terminal would also be expanded, besides adding one more runway which would enable 37 aircraft to take-off at a single point of time. He said the additional cost would be met by debt.
