Flying start for Delhi airport modernisation

New Delhi: The GMR-Fraport consortium, selected as the private sector partner for modernisation of Delhi airport, has put in place a team of global veterans to get the high-profile project off the ground at the earliest.
Papa Stefanou Yanni from Athens airport has been appointed as the COO for the joint venture that will manage the Delhi airport.
Bruce Benjamin, who is heading the project management team for GMR’s Hyderabad international airport project, is shifting to Delhi. Originally from Hong Kong airport, Benjamin will be the head of the project management team for Delhi airport.
For the masterplan that will play a key role in modernisation of the Delhi airport, Thua Chai Teck from Changi airport has been appointed vice-president at the Delhi airport joint venture.
To look at commercial aspects of the JV, Khong Peck Kim from Changi airport has been appointed. In addition, Fraport is deputing a team of nearly half-a-dozen specialists for the Delhi airport project.
