Pretoria: South Africa will co-host a meeting here this month with India and Brazil to discuss the finalisation of civil aviation and maritime plans developed by the IBSA (India, Brazil, South Africa) Dialogue Forum.
The three countries decided that, in taking forward a renewed approach to IBSA deliverables, South Africa should host the meeting that will focus on finalising a maritime transport agreement and review implementation of an air transport pact. Representatives of Air India, Brazil's national airline VARIG and South African Airways too attended the Forum, where concrete projects were identified for cooperation.
"Cooperation will be fostered in areas of air-link expansions, training and knowledge sharing in airports and airspace management, port management, operational and infrastructural systems, including capacity building in shipbuilding, environmental management and navigational systems," said a joint statement issued by the ministers.
