Deccan's choppers to fly to tourist locales in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: Deccan Aviation, India's largest private sector helicopter charter company, will begin operations in the city, from where it will offer helicopter services to tourist locales in Kerala.
The company that boosted the concept of low-cost flying in the country through Air Deccan, would fly helicopters with a seating capacity of six from the base here to tourist spots like Munnar, Kumarakom and Thekkadi, Base Manager of Deccan Aviation, Capt Srinagesh B Nair told reporters here.
Enquiries had poured in after the initial plans for helicopter services were announced, Nair said, adding the first lift-off would be in a day or two.
The helicopter services would also be used to attend to medical emergencies, for which talks were on for tie-ups with hospitals, he said.
