Transmile to expand services to India

Transmile Group Bhd is hoping to expand express services to India, China, Europe and Japan this year.
Speaking to reporters after its AGM in Kuala Lumpur on June 13, chief executive officer Gan Boon Aun said the company planned to initiate services to Kolkatta and Mumbai in India and Chicago in the United States.
He said Transmile hoped to acquire the additional aircraft and finance the acquisition via various instruments, including bond issuance. "We have very good credit ratings," he said.
Gan said Transmile planned to standardise its current fleet size of 20 aircraft comprising four MD11s, 10 B727s, four B737s and two Cessna caravans to three types of aircraft only.
Gan said it was “challenging” to source for MD11 aircraft, which is no longer being manufactured, but was in talks with MD11 aircraft owners.
