BAA considers Stansted to India link

Managers at BAA are in talks with several airlines over a potential direct service between Stansted and destinations in India, including Delhi.
An increasing number of routes between the Asian nation and the UK have begun in recent months but as yet there is only one indirect route from Stansted to the Indian capital Delhi, provided by Turkish Airlines.
As business between the two countries increases, a direct link from the Essex hub will be a boon for the region.
"We recognise that, in the future, there will be a huge opportunity to capture a slice of the action once travel between the UK and India really opens up," a BAA spokesman told Business Weekly.
