Etihad bets on India for profits to take off

Abu Dhabi: Etihad Airways' acting CEO, Geert W Boven says, the company is aiming at increasing the number of flights to and from India.
"Etihad plans to have seven flights daily from Delhi and 14 between Mumbai and UAE. We also intend to have regular daily flights from Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram," he said.
While special holiday packages called "Etihad Holidays" are already on offer, the airline, with a lavish business-cum-first class comfort, will launch its internet booking from August along with a frequent flier programme.
"Our frequent flier programme would be unique as the passengers would not lose any air-miles. They would be able to buy something with miles earned," he said.
