Air Deccan today announced the appointment of Mr. Shabbir Khambata, as the Vice President - Airport Service. Prior to joining Air Deccan, Mr. Khambata worked as Manager, Ground Operations with Air Arabia in Sharjah. Mr. Khambata took charge of his new assignment on 28th June 2006 and will be responsible for Airport Services.
Mr. Khambata started his professional career as a Tours Conductor with H.K. Lala and Co., Bombay. Mr. Khambata has an experience of over 31 years in the aviation industry and has worked with Swissair (Bombay), Kuwait Airways Corporation and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. Mr. Khambata has undertaken numerous innovative projects that include cost-cutting measures by encouraging use of recycled paper, curbing the flow of fraudulent travellers, generating income concept of ‘paid’ lounge usage, and creating the KLM Business Class Lounge at Dubai International Airport, to name a few.
