Expansion Plans For Francistown Airport Underway

It is just a matter of time before bigger planes land in Francistown, following plans to expand the airport.
The Deputy Director in the Department of Civil Aviation, Sekgele Kolo, said last week that the detailed design document of the expansion is expected to be submitted to the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Board (PPADB) next month. Kolo disclosed that a reputable Indian company, RITE Afrika, which has carried out previous work in Botswana will carry out the design. RITE Afrika was responsible for improvements at Maun airport in a joint venture with Burro Bin Botswana. The company specialises in transportation design and has designed projects in countries such as Angola, India and Yemen.
