J&K Govt may start helicopter service to promote tourism

Jammu: Observing that many tourist potential areas like Bhaderwah in Jammu and Kashmir have remained neglected due to inadequate infrastructure, the State Government on Sunday said it is looking into the possibility of starting a helicopter service to scenic areas.
Keeping in mind the poor road connectivity to Bhadarwah as also to tourist potential regions of Poonch, Rajouri and Udhampur, regular helicopter service is being deliberated upon, Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said.
Adventure sports particularly, para-gliding, skiing are also being planned for Bhadarwah and experts in the field are already working on these fronts.
On affording to the people chopper service for paying obeisance at the shrine of Kailash Kund situated at a height of 14000 feet, the Chief Minister said priority would be given to senior citizens.
