Satyam bags IT deal from biggest Oz airline

Bangalore: India's number-four software exporter, Satyam Computer Services Ltd., has won a software services deal from Qantas Airways Ltd. , a company source said on Friday.
He did not disclose the size of the contract. "I can only confirm that the deal has been given to us," the source, who did not want to be identified, said on phone from Satyam's headquarters in the southern city of Hyderabad.
Indian software services firms have been thriving on an outsourcing boom as companies worldwide look to cut costs at home to stay competitive.
A large pool of English-speaking engineering workforce and cheaper wages of nearly one-fifth of western salaries have helped Indian companies attract outsourcing deals over the past decade.
