Bomb hoax call: 'The man was drunk'

Dubai: A man under the influence of alcohol made the hoax bomb threat call that led to the diversion of an Indian flight, said a source at Chatrapathi Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, India, yesterday.
Following the hoax terror threat, the Mumbai-Dubai flight with 145 passengers aboard made an emergency landing at Al Minhad airbase at 11.20pm on Tuesday.
"Two telephone calls were made by him to the airline's call centre. The first call said two terror suspects and a bomb were onboard flight IC 683. After a while he placed a second call, changed his story and said the suspects were on another Dubai-bound flight and not on the one which he mentioned earlier," said the source. Mumbai and Dubai airport authorities swung into action as soon the terror threats were made. "The two terror suspects named by the caller were not on the list of passengers onboard IC 683," said the source.
