DAE to announce first overseas project soon

Dubai: A consortium led by DAE Airports, which is targeting a slice of the $120 billion airport projects expected to be completed by 2014 in Africa, the Middle East, India and China, is close to announcing its first venture abroad.
Since the establishment a few months ago, DAE Airports, a division of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), has been pursuing greenfield airport and existing airport development projects in over a dozen countries in Asia and the Middle East. According to Dr Mohammed A. Al Zarouni, Managing Director of DAE, the Dubai entity would be ready to initiate the first project within a few weeks.
While China alone is expected to build 50 new airports in the next decade, several new airports are either planned or under construction in Lisbon, Mumbai, Qatar, Vietnam and Bangkok.
