Raipur: Becoming an airhostess is a dream for many young women across the country but access to expensive training institutes is often impossible.
There is now hope for Dalit and adivasi women in Chhattisgarh with the government stepping in to help them reach for the skies.
Even then it is not going to be a cakewalk. Of all the aspirants only 12 will be chosen.
The government will then foot the bill for their training, which is approximately Rs one lakh a year and if they get selected by an airline they will be given fare to the venue of the interview.
In a state essentially tribal with poor airline connectivity, the state government may have made a commendable beginning.
But what remains to be seen is how many tribal or Dalit women will make it to the government's selection process.
