Chandigarh: The IAF is planning to carry out campus interviews for recruiting fighter pilots at premier technical institutions other than IITs and RECs across the country.
IAF will carry out the exercise at top tech institutions in 20 cities in November and December this year.
The IAF plans to recruit 200 candidates per year from the institutes, sources said.
"The catch phrase of the recruitment drives is: 'Learn to Fly for Free'. If anyone wants to learn flying an aircraft and obtain a commercial pilot licence, he/she would have to spend anywhere between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 25 lakh. But the IAF would train them and also pay them for learning to do so," said the officer.
