Beechcraft crashlands at Juhu Airport, catches fire

Mumbai: A Beechcraft aircraft, on its way to Vadodara from Mumbai, caught fire after it force landed due to a minor technical snag soon after take off from the Santacruz domestic airport. The pilot, showing great presence of mind, brough the aircraft down at the Juhu Airport yesterday, however it crashed on landing and caught fire.
Two passengers, including the crew, escaped with minor injuries.
The four-seater aircraft belonging to Container Movement Transport Ltd. had to force land after it developed the snag and caught fire after landing.
The aircraft, has been removed from the tarmac to operationalise the airport, sources said. A team of officials from the Airports Authority of India, and Directorate General of Civil Aviation reached the spot to commence a detailed inquiry.
