Deportees from Spain are not Indians, confirms FIA

Islamabad: The 42 illegal immigrants deported from Spain will not be sent back to Spain, as the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) immigration cell has confirmed that they are all Pakistani.
A Pakistan Foreign Office spokeswoman also confirmed that all deportees were Pakistani, adding that had they been from Indian held Kashmir, they would have been returned to Spain
Daily Times has learnt that the majority of the 42 illegal immigrants are from central Punjab – including the cities of Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot and Gujranwala.
The deportees will be produced in court today (Saturday). The deportees told the cell they belonged to Indian held Kashmir on their arrival at the Islamabad International Airport.
The deportees confessed that they lied to the immigration cell so they could be returned to Spain where they planned to seek political asylum, said Khosa.
