Man who bombed Air India building guilty

Mumbai: The special TADA court trying the ’93 serial blasts case on Monday pronounced accused no 16 Mohammed Farooq Pawale guilty of executing blasts at the Air India building and Lucky petrol pump near Shiv Sena Bhavan.
Found guilty of 23 charges, including criminal conspiracy and abetting the commission of terrorist act under the repealed TADA act, Pawale could face a maximum punishment of death sentence or a minimum punishment of life imprisonment.
Special Judge P Kode accepted the confessions and the evidence of approver, eyewitnesses and those who were injured in the blasts. However, one eyewitness could not identify Pawale.
He was found guilty of taking part in the landing and transportation of arms, ammunition and explosives at Shekadi in Raigad district in February ‘93.
