Radar in disrepair delays flights

Kolkata: Domestic air services were seriously affected this afternoon at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport which temporarily missed a radar sent out for repairs after water had seeped into it during a pre-puja downpour, eroding its functional efficiency.
A number of flights to North-eastern India, New Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai operated by several airlines were delayed with landings and take-offs having to be guided manually.
