Hyderabad: GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL), which is setting up the country's first `Open Access Model' fuel farm, has awarded the contract to Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) through the competitive bidding process to operate and maintain it. GHIAL and RIL signed the contract here on Friday.
Announcing the details at a press conference here, GHIAL's COO, T. Srinagesh, said the contract would be valid for seven years.
GHIAL is setting up three huge tanks with an initial capacity of 13,500 kl of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) and hydrant in the new airport. Mr. Srinagesh said that under the open access model, any oil company could supply fuel to airlines as per its agreements with the latter.
