Goa mulls ban on entry of visitors at airport

Panaji: In the wake of heightened security at airports due to a terror threat, authorities are contemplating a ban on the entry of visitors at the Goa airport.
"Security around the airport has already been tightened. We are already on alert, though Goa has no specific terror threat," an airport official said here on Friday.
"We are waiting for guidelines from higher-ups. Till now, we have not banned visitors but in future we are contemplating the possibility," the official said.
Goa airport, located on the outskirts of the port town of Vasco, 35 km from here, is guarded by 260 Central Industrial Security Force personnel.
